. . . and just like that . . . schools across the United States and literally worldwide are closed to help control the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. How is your local community working to mitigate the spread? Social distancing? Closing businesses? Limiting travel? Everything we can do to slow down this virus or flatten the curve is the goal when closing schools. However, with these school closures, many parents are forced into homeschooling their child(ren) and teachers are revamping their instruction from face-to-face towards an online learning platform.
When I sent back into my classroom . . . it was so weird to see . . . empty seats, hear pindrop silence, . . . the life was this classroom was gone. How long will this pandemic last?
As an intervention specialist split between two buildings, my students were used to not seeing me every day. They were already familiar with using Google Classroom to complete assignments. My learning curve was on Zoom. I guess it worked out okay, since they asked to continue Zoom lessons over the summer!
That is fabulous!!! Are you able to meet over the summer with the students? I will be split between 2 buildings this next year, so it will be interesting to see how things work out.
